Course Information

The Trauma and Resuscitation course aims to reduce trauma related deaths by training the people dealing with traumatic injuries in the pre-hospital field to recognise and treat life-threatening injuries. It is well recognised that the care a patient receives pre-hospital, not only can decrease the risk of mortality but also improve and promote recovery.

For many years now the ATLS and PHTLS courses have been the only trauma training available for medical and paramedical groups. Whilst both these courses offer excellent trauma training neither take into account the specific needs of certain pre-hospital care specialists. In response to this need, the concept of an intermediate level trauma course consisting of core modules, supplemented with specific additional modules was born.

The core modules include:-

  • Kinematics
  • Scene Safety
  • Advanced Airway Techniques
  • Cardio-respiratory Assessment
  • Spinal Immobilisation
  • Fracture Immobilisation
  • Defibrillation
  • Medical Gases
  • Packaging and Evacuation

Additional modules are specifically tailored to the groups needs. E.g.

Construction industry – Crush injury, fall from height, suspension trauma.

Fire and Rescue– RTC’s, burns, paediatrics

The course was designed by a multidisciplinary faculty of pre and in-hospital trauma specialists using the very latest evidence based practice and guidelines. The course is accredited for CPD by The Royal College of Anaesthetists.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any more information about any of the courses.
